Shelby Hartley
Shelby Hartley
Shelby is a warm and empathic therapist who brings her authenticity
into sessions to build meaningful therapeutic relationships. She has a
non-judgemental, welcoming and friendly approach. This, and 10
years’ experience in mental health across a variety of settings.
Shelby enjoys the diversity of working across the life-span. She has
experience working with young children, adolescents, parents, and
adults. Shelby has a special interest in assessments and diagnostics,
supporting individuals with life transitions, ADHD and behavioural
concerns in children. Her skills and experience can support individuals
with a vary of presentations including anxiety, stress and burnout,
adjustment disorder, trauma and PTSD, grief and loss and parent
concerns.
Director & Psychologist
Shelby draws from a wide range of evidence-based psychological strategies to assist people of all ages in
reaching their goals, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy,
Mindfulness-based skills and attachment frameworks. She is an LGBTQIA+ ally and takes a
neurodiversity-affirming approach.
During her time off Shelby enjoys long walks on the beach with her labradors Bear and Indie. She loves
practicing self-care in the form of morning workouts, ocean swims, yoga, meditation, personal
development activities and coffee with friends.
Alana Selby
Alana Selby
Also known as chaos coordinator, Alana has been running her own
support work business for the last four years. As such, she is well-
versed in the importance of client care, communication and
organisation.
Alana is currently studying a Diploma of Counselling where she aims
to focus on mental health, disability and relationships. Alana hopes to
join the Rising Minds team as a counsellor once she has gained her
registration with the Australian Register of Counsellors &
Psychotherapists.
Alana works remotely so contact with her will typically be via phone
and email.
Admin Assistant
Alana describes herself as a bubbly and friendly person who loves to spend time in nature. In her spare
time she enjoys attending boxercise, walks on the beach with her two rescue dogs and camping.
